Takata Airbag Recall
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is asking for our help in notifying the public about the Takata Airbag Recall. Only about 25% of the vehicles affected have been repaired. As we move into summer and the weather is hot and humid they have found this triggers the damaged airbags to malfunction.
CPS Technicians have the opportunity when doing a seat check to check the Vehicle Identification Number of the vehicle you are assisting with a seat check or at least the opportunity to ask if they have checked their vehicle for recalls. Law Enforcement as well have an opportunity to check the number or bring to the attention of the driver the importance of checking for this or any recall.
