Attention Residents and Visitors of Dickinson County,
We wish to inform you about the latest resolution passed by the Dickinson County authorities concerning the sale and discharge of fireworks. This notice serves to keep our community informed and ensure compliance with the new regulations.
Key Points of the Resolution:
Sales Authorization:
- The sale of fireworks is permitted only between June 27 and July 4. If July 4th falls on Thursday or Friday, the sale of consumer fireworks will be allowed on July 5. All vendors must obtain a proper license before beginning sales.
- Approved fireworks include firecrackers, roman candles, bottle rockets etc., and any other types not explicitly mentioned are prohibited without prior authorization.
Discharge Regulations:
- Individuals are only allowed to discharge fireworks during the stipulated period of July 1 – July 4. In the event the 4th falls on a Thursday or Friday discharge of fireworks will be extended to July 5. Daily discharge hours are 8:00 am to 11:30 pm.
- Fireworks must be discharged on private property with the owner’s consent. Public parks and other county properties are off-limits.
- Safety measures must be always adhered to. This includes maintaining a safe distance from buildings, using a flat launch surface, and keeping water sources nearby.
Safety Guidelines:
- Please familiarize yourself with the safety instructions provided on packaging.
- Adult supervision is mandatory, and protective eye gear is highly recommended during all fireworks activities.
