Register of Deeds

The Register of Deeds Office is to serve as custodian to Dickinson County land and vital records, and other records as needed.

It’s the responsibility of the Register of Deeds to maintain, preserve, index and provide access to our county land and vital records. Our office is governed by the Kansas General Statutes, which set strict policies and procedures for us to follow in the discharging of our duties.

As your Register, I am committed to providing excellent customer service in a courteous and professional manner. Additionally, I am a strong advocate for document preservation and will make it my mission to maintain the integrity of our records. I intend to work toward implementing new technology in our office, in order to expedite and provide better quality service.

We have a knowledgeable and experienced staff that are happy to help you with any questions.

The Register of Deeds ARE NOT researchers; we are recorders of documents. There is a fee for any research that is requested of our office.


The Register of Deeds shall record:

  • DEEDS
  • POWER OF ATTORNEY
  • MORTGAGES
  • RESOLUTIONS (CITY & COUNTY)
  • SURVEYS
  • ORDINANCES (CITY & COUNTY)
  • CERTIFICATE OF DEATH
  • HONORABLE MILITARY DISCHARGES
  • TAX LIENS (STATE & FEDERAL)
  • AFFIDAVITS
  • UNIFORM COMMERCIAL CODES
  • PLATS

And many other documents that are required by Kansas State Statutes.

Data Search $25.00 a day or $250.00 a month plus cost of copies - DATA SEARCH

Office Hours – Monday Thru Friday 8:00 – 5:00

We stop recording in the office at 4:00, E-Record stops at 3:00
