Community Corrections provides intensive supervision and surveillance for adult and juvenile offenders who would otherwise be incarcerated in State facilities. Funding is from the Kansas Department of Corrections and the Juvenile Justice Authority. Intensive supervision is the cornerstone of Community Corrections.
For offenders, this includes:
Frequent face-to-face meetings with case managers
Routine drug testing
Surveillance (including evenings and weekends)
Community service
Regular contact with other community agencies that provide offender services, such as counseling, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, etc.
