Preventing Accidents Before They Happen

Dickinson County Emergency Medical Services would like to prevent accidents before they happen. This activity is offered by EMS and was established to educate and promote safety among Dickinson County children.

At this fair, families have the opportunity to learn:

• Proper hand washing techniques
• How to call 9-1-1 and relay proper information to dispatchers
• Proper installation of child safety seats
• Safe bicycling practices via a bicycle course
• Correct way for children to carry their backpacks and suitable weight limits
• How to prevent accidents in their home
• Elements of weather safety-what to do in severe weather
• How to obtain and utilize a DNA identification kit
